What a weekend, I got back from the USA on Saturday, suffered the usual jetlag issues meaning I was up on Sunday morning at just gone 3am! We left home at around 6:00am, it was dry and clear and I very happy with the forecast for the day showing sunny and dry all day. Dry it was, warm initially it was not as the whole of Essex appeared to be covered with a thick layer of cloud and I was freezing! Qualifying got underway and it was clear that the track was going to be fast and was only going to get faster if the sun came out.......which it finally did and was a nice sunny, but typically fresh, spring day, and the track did indeed get faster and faster. With all 3 class track records being broken by the very competitive STCC drivers. Altogether a really enjoyable racing meeting, with plenty of people experiencing the joys and woes of the Southend track - challenging but oh so good when you got a really good run, frustrating when you didn't, and probably breaking it to boot!

A huge thank you to everyone attending. Thanks to the Southend club members for making us very welcome and looking after everyone. Random LiPo testing took place once again, nothing of any note, just a few drivers who may need to check the calibration of their chargers but apart from a couple who were a few millivolts over, most peoples cells were well under 8.4V.
